Wheat State Credit Union will never call or text you asking for sensitive information such as your SSN, account number, card numbers, online banking username & password, or PIN. If someone reaches out to you requesting this information, please do not respond. If you have concerns about a fraudulent Wheat State CU phone call or text, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly. If you suspect your identity may have been stolen, visit the Federal Trade Commission’s IdentityTheft.gov to report the theft and get a recovery plan.

Wheat State CU Impersonations
Please be careful of out-of-the-blue phone calls, emails, or texts claiming to be Wheat State CU or another financial institution. Fake Wheat State CU scammers may try to trick you out of money or information, claiming fraudulent activity, a missed payment, or a lockdown on your account.

Sweetheart Scam
Look out for online connections that offer to send a cashier’s check or virtual payment in return for a cash advance, wire transfer, bitcoin, or gift card. They may stress urgency with a made-up story so you send their request before being notified their payment was no good.

Remember: Never send money to someone you haven’t met in person.

• Only download the official Wheat State CU app from the Apple Store or Google Play Store.
• Choose a secure and complicated password, be sure to change it frequently.
• Keep all operating systems up to date.
• Increase your layers of security by using two-factor authentication (2FA).
• Use a VPN on your computer and smartphone, so your internet connections are encrypted and anonymous.
